Official Boxing Venue for Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr

What is known? That the highly anticipated HBO Pay-Per-View TV event of Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Maweather Jr. will happen on March 13th. Steve Kim of MaxBoxing has confirmed that much in his recent reporting. What is not know? Which Venue will host the mega event. Folks, this is a big money fight and some big money players are throwing some serious cash to host the fight.

Earlier this week the LA Times reported an unnamed source close to the negotiations as stating the official word
on the venue and the fight itself could come late Thursday (today).

The two biggest and perhaps the only two names in left in the running (Staples Center in LA was ruled out because of high taxes) are the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, which has a seating capacity of 17,157 and the new 1.2 billion dollar complex, the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Lawyer and Key adviser to Manny Pacquiao, Franklin Gacal, was quoted today (Thursday) by Nick Giongco for the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation in regards to who he feel will host the mega event. Gacal who is part of team Pacquiao and was actually on his way to celebrate at the birthday party of Manny Pacquiao's, stated: "With the Casino and all the betting that's going to take place, Las Vegas will eventually get the right to host the fight." Gacal went on to add that with all the revenue on the table for this fight, he can't see Las Vegas allowing itself to lose out to Dallas.
